What is the R.A.D System
The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic,
self-defense tactics and techniques. The R.A.D. System is a
comprehensive course for women that begins with awareness, prevention,
risk reduction and avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of
hands-on defense training.
Our courses are taught by certified R.A.D. instructors and provide you
with a workbook/reference manual. The R.A.D. System of Physical Defense
Program is currently taught at many Colleges and Universities. The
growing, wide spread acceptance of this system is primarily due to the
ease, simplicity and effectiveness of our tactics, solid research,
legal defensibility, and unique teaching methodology. The Rape
Aggression Defense System is dedicated to teaching women defensive
concepts and techniques against various types of assault, by utilizing
easy, effective and proven self-defense/martial arts tactics. Our
system of realistic defense will provide a woman with the knowledge to
make an educated decision about resistance.
Safety and survival in today's world requires a definite course of
action. We provide effective options by teaching women to take an
active role in their own self-defense and psychological well being.
Finally, a Physical Defense Program for women that:
- Has established standards of acceptability for female self-defense programs
- Offers no-nonsense, practical techniques of defense
- Researched the effects of "The Fight or Flight Syndrome"

- Provides students with a comprehensive Reference Manual
- Certifies Instructors from the community
- Has a litigation defense policy
- Offers state of the art programs at reasonable rates
- Every student receives a lifetime membership policy
- There is no cost for participants
The Program consists of 12 hours of training, which is broken down into
five 4 hour blocks. Participants will receive education and physical
hands-on training.
Rape Statistics
- Every minute in America, there are 1.3 forcible rapes of adult women, 78 each hour 1,871 each day, 56,916 each month 683,000 every year.
- 1 out of 4 college women reported being sexually assaulted sometime during their four years.
- Only 10-16% of rapes are reported
- Of 123,850 women reporting rape or attempted rape, 41.3% occurred in the daytime, 58.7% occurred at night.
- Women who are forceful about resisting a would-be rapist are less likely to be raped and no more likely to be injured than those who resist weakly or not at all.
- In a study of 60 women who were assaulted, women who made absolutely no attempt to resist were all raped. It is only by resisting that women have a chance to avoid being raped.
