Communications

Communications Officers are responsible for all base station radio communications, central emergency phone lines, state and national computerized criminal information systems, and all alarm system monitoring for the Radford University Police Department. They also serve as the departments criminal warrant records custodians. The state of the art communications center in the Allen Building is staffed by five full-time and one part- time Communication Officers to provide 24 hour emergency operations to the University. Officers receive specialized communications academy training and Virginia State Police VCIN/NCIC training.
